Island State Brewing – Ulverstone
Island State Brewing, on The Pier at 3 Wharf Street Ulverstone is a great spot for lunch. Sit in the sun by the river and sample their locally made brews.
The menu is extensive, with something for everyone. Burgers, curries, ribs, tacos, fish and chips, Tasmanian oysters and scallops and more.
Open Tuesday to Sunday from 12 noon.
North East Region
Tandy’s Ale House – Launceston
Tandy’s Ale House at 100 Elizabeth Street Launceston, serves only Tasmanian beer, gin, wine, whisky and cider, with a friendly, cosy atmosphere and a very relaxed vibe.
Enjoy the Monday Trivia nights, buy a ticket for the Tuesday meat trays and get delicious food delivered from the Curry Club Indian Restaurant.
Open seven days a week, with a constantly changing selection of locally brewed craft beers.
Cottage Bakery – Scottsdale
The Cottage Bakery at 9 Victoria Street Scottsdale is an old-school bakery with award winning pies and a huge selection of delicious goodies.
Stop in for a coffee and cake after conquering The Sidling.
Eastern Region
Bluff Road Lookout – Orford
Bluff Road Lookout
After crossing the bridge in Orford, continue straight ahead on Charles Street, past the supermarket. Charles Street soon becomes Rehban Road (C320), and in less than 5km you will find Bluff Road on your left.
Park at the end of Bluff Road and walk up the very short track to a magnificent viewing area. There are no safety barriers or hand rails so be careful!

Tullah Lakeside Lodge
Tullah Lakeside Lodge
Tullah is the sort of place you could easily drive through without stopping. But all the action is off the main road. Turn left into Tullah proper and the road ends at the Tullah Lakeside Lodge.
Even when you get to the carpark the true delights of this place are still hidden. Its only when you go through reception, past the bar and the big, stone fireplace that you see the magnificent views of Lake Rosebery
The Lodge is a great place to stay overnight and enjoy a meal over a few beers.

The Wall – Derwent Bridge
The Wall is a 3 metre high, 100 metre long panel of hand carved Huon Pine depicting Tasmanian scenes of animals, landscapes and people.
This intricate and life-like work has taken sculptor Greg Duncan 15 years so for, and he’s still going.
A must see on your Tasmanian visit. Bookings may be required.
